Travel & parking

By train (recommended)

For runners arriving from Budapest, train travel is the recommended option.

Direct trains depart from Nyugati Railway Station and reach Nagymaros in approximately 40 minutes.

From Nagymaros–Visegrád station, the race center is just a short 200-meter walk away.

Arriving by car & parking

From Budapest – via ferry (through Visegrád)

If arriving by car, GPS navigation often suggests the route through Visegrád. Please note that this option requires crossing the Danube by ferry.

The ferry departs from Visegrád every hour at :45, therefore we recommend using either the 7:45 or 8:45 crossing at the latest.

On this route, leaving your car in Visegrád is often the most convenient solution, where several larger parking areas are available. The ferry arrives in Nagymaros only around 50 meters from the start–finish area, making pedestrian access simple and comfortable.

From Budapest / Northern Hungary – via the M2 motorway

Coming via the M2 motorway, continue toward Szob at the Vác roundabout and follow Route 12 to Nagymaros.

Parking is not available directly at the race center.

A free parking area is available near the sports field before entering town. From there, the race center can be reached with a pleasant 15-minute walk along the Danube.

Whenever possible, we encourage participants to use this parking option.

Within Nagymaros, limited paid parking is available near the railway station, and parking may also be possible in smaller streets.

Please always park responsibly and avoid obstructing local residents.

Stopping or parking along Route 12 is strictly prohibited.

From Győr / Western Hungary

For runners arriving from western Hungary, an alternative route leads through Slovakia:

Esztergom – Štúrovo – Letkés – Szob – Nagymaros

Upon arrival in Nagymaros, we recommend parking in one of the smaller residential streets and walking to the riverside and race center.

Even the furthest streets, such as Selmecbánya Street, are only around 1 km from the start–finish area.

Parking in these streets is free of charge, but please park carefully and respectfully.

We wish every participant the best of luck and an unforgettable running experience in the Danube Bend.
