The Panoráma Trail is far more than just a running race.
It is an unforgettable journey through one of Hungary’s most unique landscapes — the wild and mystical forests of the Zemplén Mountains — connecting three historic castles as if you were running on the border between history and nature itself.
Here, every step tells a story.
As you climb higher and higher, crossing rocky trails and mountain streams, you slowly disappear into the silence of the forest — and at the same time, move closer to yourself.
When you finally reach the gate of the third castle, you receive much more than a beautiful finisher medal.
You earn something far greater: the overwhelming sense of achievement and pride that only comes from completing a truly extraordinary challenge. A moment you will remember forever.
Held in October, during perfect trail running conditions, the Panoráma Trail is not primarily about finishing times.
This race is about the experience.

At some point, the silence of the deep forest, the rhythm of the mountains and the sound of your own breathing begin to merge into one.
And that is when something happens.
The Route
The Three Castles Route – the classic Panoráma Trail course
45 kilometres.
Three historic castles.
This is not the “shorter” or the “longer” option.
This is the Panoráma Trail itself.
The route that takes you through the most beautiful and wildest parts of the Zemplén Mountains — touching the gates of three castles along the way, while pushing the limits of your own endurance.
This is the complete experience.
This is the challenge.
This is why you come here.
Forest trails with over 1800 metres of elevation gain, with approximately 10% asphalt sections.

We strongly recommend that all participants download the GPX route in advance.
With a free GPX viewer app, you can also check your position during the race if needed.
Cut-off Times
The official cut-off time for the 45 km course is 9 hours.
Both solo runners and relay teams must reach the finish line by 18:00.
Intermediate cut-off times are set at each aid station and must be respected.
Once a checkpoint closes, runners arriving after the cut-off will not be allowed to continue the race.

Individual Entry
If you want to face the full challenge alone,
the Three Castles Route is a true initiation.

Team Relay (3-person team)
If you would rather experience this journey together, you can also enter as a 3-person relay team.
Divide the route between your teammates and complete the Panoráma Trail together.

Online registration opens on 17 May 2026.
Participant numbers are limited in order to preserve both the trail experience and the quality of the event.
Once the limit is reached, registration will close.

At the Finish Line
When you cross the finish line, you will not simply complete a race.
You will complete a journey.
You may be exhausted.
You may be completely drained.
And for a brief moment, you may even become emotional.
That is perfectly okay.
Awards
🏆 Trophies will be awarded to:

the top 3 overall female and male solo runners

the top 3 female and male relay teams
(Mixed relay teams are also welcome and will be ranked in the male relay category.)
Course Record Awards
The runner who breaks the Panoráma Trail 45 km course record — both female and male — will receive a special Hollóházi × Panoráma Trail trophy.

Unfortunately, later collection or postal delivery is not possible.
What Else Should You Know?
Bag Transport
Solo runners will receive an additional green wristband together with their castle-entry wristband, marked with their race number.
If you would like your bag transported from the start to the finish area in Füzér:

attach the green wristband to your bag
-
and hand it over to the organisers before the start
Your bag can then be collected at the finish area in Füzér.
👉 Please note: bag transport is not available for relay teams, as teams usually travel between relay points with their own vehicles.
Mandatory Equipment
Due to the nature of the course, some sections between aid stations are longer than usual.
Please make sure you carry:

at least 0.5 litres of water capacity (bottle or hydration system)
-
trail running shoes suitable for mountain terrain
-
a fully charged and switched-on mobile phone
Wearing your race bib and wristband during the race is mandatory.
Without them, access to certain areas of the event will not be possible.
